Popsicles are too cold!

Sophie is afraid of the crashing sea waves. She doesn't dare to walk in sand, or grass. She's terrified of the sound of the food processor. She dares not try bare chicken, or fish. And now the popsicle is too cold for her.

I made these home-made popsicles with freshly squeezed orange juice. These were supposed to be very interesting popsicles where it has a hole for putting fillings. Of course, I imagined her getting all excited, slurping the popsicle from side to side. 

In reality...

*Frowns frowns frowns* "too cold!!!"

And then she flung it onto the ground. 

2nd time at the beach

This diva does not like the beach.

Screaming every time we tried to get near to the edge of the water. She's very sensitive to the crashing of the sea waves. It seems ironic, because we used to sooth Sophie to sleep with the sound of ocean waves with the Iphone app. But the weather was great this time at Capitola, nice and warm.

A little scorching at times though. But we have since stocked up on a beach umbrella for our next beach escape!

Who looks like who?

I don't think I look like my mom but I think Sophie looks like me when I was a kid.

Going Home from Daycare

Just a week or so of practising, Sophie is much more proficient at walking. Her legs still spread out a litte, and her arms waving in front for support. Here she is, excitedly walking out of daycare to the car. No more a crawler!

Edible arrangements

dd's recruiter has given him a basket of edible arrangements (fruit basket) to congratulate him on his new job (and for their commission of course). Sophie is definitely benefitting the most from this.

Mother's Day from Good Sam

The daycare made this for Mother's Day. Too cute. I think they use ladybug because she's in the ladybug room. Oh that means those from the froggies room are froggies...

When are they coming again?

March-April 2012. The Ong folks were at Cabrillo. Here's Gloria enjoying an animation moment, then 1 1/2 years old. And grey superman grandpa is carrying less than 1 mth old Sophie in the background. When are they coming again?

A day at the beach

Decided to go to the beach this weekend. Sophie's first time at the beach! Well, at least her first time getting down into the sand. i bought a beach set for her complete with pail, shovel, sand castle moulds so i've been dying to use it. So Santa Cruz or San Gregorio? I picked the latter because I thought it would be cooler. It turned out to be too cold! Windy and foggy. Even though the fog cleared up in the afternoon, it was still cold... Brr. Poor Sophie was still shivering after wearing a jacket.
Nevertheless she still had some fun in the sun shoveling away at the sand. (And she didn't try to eat any sand!)

Cheered up a little after some raisins

We stopped by Half Moon Bay for some clam chowder and couldn't resist offering Sophie some too. She loved it! Especially oyster crackers dipped in the chowder. Look at her satisfied face!
