Disneyland July 4
As it seems, we have not been on a vacation in a long while! With mm's ear infections and chronic fluid, we have put off flying for vacation plans. That means no Singapore, Taiwan, Japan, whatsoever.
So, anyway, off to Anaheim's Disneyland we went for the long July 4th weekend. We bought a 2-day park hopper, and with good research, careful planning including meal planning, and clever execution, crowded Disneyland is still the happiest place on earth.
We started by re-living some Sg moments with Din Tai Fung and Duke's Bakery in LA.
Duke's bakery here is so spacious they provide shopping carts. There wasn't that much buns that require a shopping cart, totally unnecessary.
We stopped by tiny little Ballboa island and took a small ferry to Newport Beach. The ferry is more like a boat that took only 3 cars and a bunch of pedestrians each time. It was weird sitting in a car on the ferry while having a bunch of pedestrians and cyclists sitting around us. It felt like 5-minute royalty.
On Sunday, we were off to Disneyland. We started bright and early, and got in when the park opened at 8.
Sophie does not enjoy the rides that are in the dark, the story-book that brings us through the scenes but enclosed. She loves the rides that are outside even if they are flying. Note to self that she's not scared of heights but doesn't like the dark. She cried after coming out from Roger rabbit car toon spin ride.
But she loves visiting the princesses. So we did it again. And again.
Sophie loves dumbo flying ride and ladybug spinning ride!
We also enjoyed all the shows. We watched Mickey Mouse show, frozen musical, beauty and beast theatre, tangled theatre, Disney junior live show. I think I enjoyed the theatre performances the most, just simple singing entertainment.

Walking Woes
Mm is 16 months old - and still not walking! So she's one of the 10% who's not walking after 15 months. We brought her to a physical therapist (same thing as physiotherapist I guess) and she evaluated her as having low muscle tone.
She showed us some exercises to encourage her to stand and tone up her muscles. Who knew?! And we thought all babies will stand up and walk when they are ready. Maybe she will eventually, but just needs that extra nudge. She's also not a fan of push toys, just like to hold our hands and walk around.

Ear infections!
Haven't blogged in a while...
Poor Olivia has been getting a lot of ear infections since she came back from sg... Now a total of 4.
Actually 5, today I decided to bring her in to urgent care because the daycare teacher said she was tugging and digging at her left ear. And it turned out my gut feeling was right. She had some redness in her left ear.
The doc decided not to give her antibiotics yet, and hope it will clear up by itself, so we will just have to wait a couple of days and see.
And then she had 2 seizures. May be a short time of <5 minutes but definitely felt like eternity to me. When I see her face turn white, eyes rolled up, and lips turning blue black, and I dunno what I can do for her, it's scary...
Anyway, at other times, the munchkin has been pretty cheery.
And such a lovely teddy bear she is, always snuggling into my lap. But so cozy that she doesn't want to walk yet! Arghz, another cause for worry. Does her feet have problem, do we have to do a neuroscan?! Hope she can walk within the next month or so!
