Disneyland July 4

As it seems, we have not been on a vacation in a long while! With mm's ear infections and chronic fluid, we have put off flying for vacation plans. That means no Singapore, Taiwan, Japan, whatsoever.

So, anyway, off to Anaheim's Disneyland we went for the long July 4th weekend. We bought a 2-day park hopper, and with good research, careful planning including meal planning, and clever execution, crowded Disneyland is still the happiest place on earth.

We started by re-living some Sg moments with Din Tai Fung and Duke's Bakery in LA.
Of course, we had to order Gpa's favourite pork chop fried rice.
Duke's bakery here is so spacious they provide shopping carts. There wasn't that much buns that require a shopping cart, totally unnecessary.

We stopped by tiny little Ballboa island and took a small ferry to Newport Beach. The ferry is more like a boat that took  only 3 cars and a bunch of pedestrians each time. It was weird sitting in a car on the ferry while having a bunch of pedestrians and cyclists sitting around us. It felt like 5-minute royalty.

On Sunday, we were off to Disneyland. We started bright and early, and got in when the park opened at 8.

Sophie does not enjoy the rides that are in the dark, the story-book that brings us through the scenes but enclosed. She loves the rides that are outside even if they are flying. Note to self that she's not scared of heights but doesn't like the dark. She cried after coming out from Roger rabbit car toon spin ride.

But she loves visiting the princesses. So we did it again. And again.
Sophie loves dumbo flying ride and ladybug spinning ride!
We also enjoyed all the shows. We watched Mickey Mouse show, frozen musical, beauty and beast theatre, tangled theatre, Disney junior live show.
I think I enjoyed the theatre performances the most, just simple singing entertainment.
The night parade was great too, just a little too late for the kiddos.
Hope to be back again soon!!
