Happy New Year!

And the munchkin is 22 months old! New Year's Day was spent in San Francisco, exploring the aquarium at Pier 39 and watching the sea lions. I thought Sophie enjoyed the fishes from Resorts World, but after a while in the underwater tunnel, she started shouting "No fish! No fish!" and then "No shark! No shark!". Maybe the tanks were too dirty. Ya, the aquarium wasn't too fantastic. I wouldn't have gone in if not for our Happy Hollow membership tics that gave us 50% off at the aquarium. Still we had to pay 10 bucks a person.
Sophie was up to her usual explorer self, running amok, and not turning around to look for her folks. She doesn't know danger, or she has too much trust in us that we will always be on a lookout for her.

Anyway, this year I resolve to be more patient and cut down on my yelling with her. As much as I tell her to be patient when it comes to asking for things, I guess I'm not all that patient myself. And I need to be more consistent with my "hold hands or bao-bao" rule. Sometimes I try to let her run free because I want to be able to give her the freedom to explore and see and touch what she wants, but I also don't want to compromise on her safety.
