Week off with the girls
Daycare was closed last 2 weeks because the teacher needed a vacation. Was planning to go sg but couldn't get Sophie's passport renewed in time.
Nonetheless, I tried to make it fun filled for them (and also activities make the time pass faster).
On Monday, we went to Shoreline Blvd. I thought it would be a good idea to build up the girls' stamina. So no stroller of course. Sophie proved to be cooperative, but Olivia needed to be carried most of the time. I guess it's also time to increase my own stamina!
We found a ship like playground where the girls played with some sand. Sophie complained that the sand wasn't wet enough for her to build sandcastles.
We enjoyed the view by the lake while having some fish and chips and peanut butter jelly sandwiches for lunch.
I think this is how much we hiked that time-haha not bad for beginners I think.
On Tuesday, we took the Caltrain to Palo Alto.
Not easy because we had to take the train and then catch a shuttle to the mall. And continue to carry O most of the way. I wanted to catch the story telling time at PB Kids. But when I reached there, they said it wasn't available at this time. Bummer. Sophie said her favourite this week was the Caltrain ride, so at least it wasn't a wasted trip.
Good thing the mall had American girl doll store, so the girls spent a good amount of time tinkering with the toys. I think the walk really worked up Sophie's appetite as she ate up her entire pizza (minus crust) and drank my soup. This doesn't happen too often.
On Wednesday/Thursday, we went to the nearby library for story telling. The girls enjoyed the story telling.
We had ramen and it was actually quite relaxing because they scarfed down their ramen themselves - and then demanded I ordered more cha shu!
On Friday, we went to Oak Meadows park in Los Gatos, where they had a mini train and a carousel. The girls went on two rides each.
Train toots are too loud!!
Lunch was packed onigiri and sitting by the playground - trusty lunchfood for field trips.
How about a refreshing sno cone for a hot day! Straight up syrup for the girls-this doesn't happen too often.
Till next time!
