Today is the second appointment back to the pediatrician after the first visit yesterday showed that fifi is 10% below birth weight. The doctor was concerned and asked me to supplement with formula milk after each breastfeed until my milk supply comes in and she doesn't keep losing weight and end up in hospital. Boo. I feel pretty disappointed and feel that it's my fault for missing some of her feeding times in the hospital and not keeping up with those feeds by pumping diligently. I couldn't stop crying after I went home.
Jiejie sends lots of words of encouragement and advice on breastfeeding which was nice and comforting. Now I breastfeed for 10minutes on each side, pump for another 10minutes each side, and let dd top her up with 30ml of formula. I can't bear to see her drinking someone else's milk so it was nice that dd prepares the formula concoction and feeds her. It was also nice that he always brings me a clean funnel and bottle for my pumping sessions.
