I just realised that I don't pump hard enough so that's why only a few drips come out at each pumping session! Duh. Now I crank up the pressure and I seem to be getting more at each pumping session after the breastfeeds. And then I can feed those precious spoonfuls to fifi after each breastfeed. But it sucks. (pun intended).
We also observed that fifi has really sensitive butts and won't latch on properly unless she has her diaper changed. We bought her Pampers Sensitive diapers initially because we didn't know if she had any sensitive skin after birth. Then after visiting the doctor yesterday, we changed her into those regular Pampers diapers at the doctor's. After coming home, she won't latch on and kept breaking into bawls and chewing away at my nipples. Ouch* She only agreed to latch on cooperatively after we changed her diaper back! She also gets all fussy and chews away when she has a peed or pooed diaper. Ouch*
Later we are going to see the lactation consultant. I think I would like to make sure my latching positions are correct because I'm a bit annoyed at my sore nipples. It doesn't help that my bottom hurts from the recovery of my stitches and my fat piles. But perseverance! I hope the milk-maid fairy visits me soon.
